Founded in 2000, The Biomedical, Environmental, Agriculture Technology (BEAT) Magnet Program at John F. Kennedy Middle School features a long tradition of success as one of the best middle grades magnet programs in the nation. The BEAT Magnet Program has celebrated twelve National Magnet School of Excellence Awards, an honor bestowed annually to the top magnet schools nationwide. The BEAT Magnet Program is an elite National Certified Magnet. Our school boasts specialized offerings with our thematic magnet curriculum infused into academic classes. All magnet students participating in our magnet program accelerate with advanced and gifted level coursework and the opportunity to enter high school with four high school credits (Algebra, Geometry, Physical Science and Biology). We have been honored with multiple STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) gold/silver designations. Starting in the 2023-2024 school year we are proud to be the only middle school in the county to offer an Artificial Intelligence foundation course, which covers the 5 big ideas of AI.
